It’s a city full of sounds
I have your memories all around me
It’s a city of my dreams
Would you join me if I mean it…

Let’s keep this one clear and concise, okay? So, I just bought a new daily. It’s a Mazda. A Mazda6, in fact. And it’s a wagon, since it’s more practical than the sedan, of course. It’s also covered in Mazda’s gorgeous Soul Red color. I don’t care it’s an auto, or even a FWD. All I care is, it’s a perfect daily, and tonight I’m going to show it to my girlfriend who hasn’t seen it yet. It’s Friday night, so naturally she’s at Central Park Mall with her besties. All right, she just called me to pick her up at the lobby. Here we go.

Like on my previous stories, her appearance always attracts my attention, no matter what she wears. I opened my window and called her, and soon she said goodbye to her friends at the lobby.

Heyy, how’s it going? Maaf tadi gue mendadak ngabarinnya,” sambut Rachel memasuki mobilku.

Good, good. How’s your day?” tanyaku.

“Yaa, biasa aja sih. Paling tadi kita ngomongin rencana branding NFT baru sih,” jawab Rachel.

By the way, jadi ini mobilnya? Wow, keren juga!” tambahnya.

“Hehe, yes it is! Mazda6, wagon, daily baru gue nih,” jawabku.

“Warnanya cakep banget! Merahnya Mazda emang ga pernah salah dehh,”

“Yoi, plus velg standarnya udah mantap banget ga sihh,”

Rachel pun menaruh barang-barang belanjaannya di kursi belakang. Ruang yang cukup luas, mengingat mobil ini adalah station wagon. Or estate, as the Brits would call it. Aku sengaja memilih mobil seperti ini karena practicallitynya yang mumpuni, namun bukan dalam bentuk SUV atau crossover. And there I sat, in the driver seat, seeing Rachel mesmerized with the interior, touching the surfaces everywhere she looks. I knew I made the right choice.

“Jadi kita mau kemana nih?” tanyaku.

“Lahh katanya elu mau muter-muter aja, gimana sih?” jawab Rachel heran.

“Iya juga sih, cuma paling nggak kemana kek gitu. Sekalian gue mau foto si bebeb ini kalo malem,” jawabku.

“Ohh kalo sekalian foto mah mending ke PIK aja. Kan banyak spot asik tuh,” saran Rachel.

Gud idea, yauds lah, PIK it is, then,” responku.

And to PIK we went. PIK never gets wrong, to be honest; the atmosphere always feels right. A safe haven for Chinese Indonesians, like Rachel. And for me too, despite not being a Chindo. Good people, good food, good views, even good cars. What’s not to love? Apart from the high prices, obviously.

So there we go. We eventually arrived at the notoriously Chinese district. Got a few beautiful pics of my baby (and babygirl) for the ‘gram, and had some good eats. A great way to spend Friday Night’s time.

Waiting next to you
On a call that might come through
I guess it don’t
I’m all alone in here…
